Coming out Hard

Well it happened. We had our first public bout.  We sold out before the doors opened. We had huge support from Humboldt County with 600 in attendance.

We also had a huge amount of community support with our fabulous support staff.  The event was also benefiting Humboldt domestic violence services. Our league witnessed that their building burned down and we wanted to help.

We have been working hard over the last 14 plus months to bring this sport to Humboldt County.
With many sacrifices made on the parts of the dedicated , courageous women, Humboldt Roller Derby has arrived.

At our last event we had a big band, snack bar, beer, big wheel races, DJ, Merchandise, and a fantastic crowd. Oh and lets not forget the main attraction Roller Derby.

20 women stepped on the track to produce the best sport and a true American past time. The bout lasted over an hour with half time and time outs.   In the last 2 minutes the game was tied 86 to 86. The cold hearts vs. The hot tempers. Two faux teams made specifically for this bout and dissolved immediately after.  When the end of the period blew the hot tempers took the game 93-88.
Our next bout will be July 26th. Get your tickets early. In the meantime stay posted for events and fund raisers.  This will sell out.
